A colourful, cultural brand identity translated into a dynamic website with playful animations.

About the project

Uri Korean is a Korean language institute in the Netherlands, where foreigners can learn the Korean language and culture. For this website I took care of everything: from target audience research to concept, design and development.

The brand strategy was carefully built to convey a friendly, educational atmosphere. I translated that into the design with a rounded sans-serif typeface and subtle, inviting animations, so visitors can take in the information effortlessly.

In Adobe Illustrator I designed a logo that captures the essence of the brand: friendly, legible and approachable. With Adobe After Effects I created looping animations that enrich the user experience.

A striking detail on the desktop homepage is the interactive cartoon version of the owner, whose eyes follow the mouse cursor. That could also have been done directly in Webflow, but Rive made the process more efficient without compromising on the result.

The result is a cohesive, engaging brand experience that matches the client’s goals precisely.

“Jesse took care of everything from target audience research to delivery. Our new visual identity is right down to the last detail, and the website has led to a significant growth in the number of students.”
